ANTIGONA FOUNDATION

The ANTIGONA FOUNDATION is a nonprofit, nongovernmental artistic & cultural
organization. It was founded on December 28th. 1994.
The purpose of the Foundation is to support young creators and their work. It aims to supply
the material, the spiritual conditions and the free mobility of the youngsters in the country
and abroad, to support the activities that make possible the creation, offering

The purpose:

• relations with other foundations or cultural associations
• festivals, symposiums, conferencies
• performances of the ANTIGONA THEATRE in the country and abroad
• promotion and artisic management
• production and distribution of movies
• organization of exhibitions and vernissages
• centers of creation, experimenting more flexible forms of organization of the theatrical institution
• cultural exchange

Founding members:
Mircea CIOBANU-writer, Stefan CALTEA-fine artist, Mihai BUCULEI-sculptor,
Klara TAMAS-fine artist, Harry TAVITIAN-musician, and also young graduates from
the Academies and Institutions of Art.
Member of Honor: Andrei SERBAN-stage director.
